Dr. Lambros Mermigis
Dr. Lambros Mermigis is a psychologist duly qualified to practice in the Province of Ontario (licence #2357). He is also a psychoanalyst, having graduated from a four year psychoanalytic program with the Institute for the Advancement of Self Psychology (IASP) in 2009.
He has over 25 years of experience providing psychological assessment and treatment in the areas of Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology. He has conducted numerous medical-legal and third party insurer examinations. He has presented at conferences on rehabilitation issues, posttraumatic stress disorder, the role of the therapeutic relationship in treatment and psychological issues in brain injury. He works in various psychotherapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioural, psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, existential and interpersonal approaches. He has considerable experience working with trauma, depression, anxiety, longstanding interpersonal issues, adjustment to physical trauma or illness and pain management.
He is currently a member of the Ontario Psychological Association, The Canadian Psychological Association, The Psychoanalytic Division of the American Psychological Association and the International Association of Relational Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. He is also on the faculty of the Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. Lambros works with adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy.
